I worked with Dawn in the legal industry for many years. Her specialty indeed is client relationships. People are drawn to her and have an immediate Trust in her - that she will hold their concerns with the highest regard and care. Advocacy and the importance of developing a trusting client relationship in underestimated in the legal industry. It is of utmost importance in the success of a clients continued healing - particularly in an abuse case. The Attorney most often has little time for the maintenance aspect of keeping a client level headed and feeling like their voice has been heard. Enter Dawn - Private Investigator/Compassionate Confidant Extraordinaire!

Hello, I wrote about this very subject a few years back for a Trial Lawyers magazine. Good lawyers know what a good investigator can do. The other attorneys are either cheap or think their own staffs can handle it. My favorite analogy was from an investigator who said that it takes a lot of different professionals to build a house, or make a case.

http://www.spencerpi.com/ Go to the blue button that says How to Sail Smoothly with a Private Eye.

Thank you for sharing this, Dawn.
It is so important that all silent victims know that we need them to find their voice. The grave responsibility lies with those who are entrusted with the information and are able to advocate on the victims behalf. But we all have a responsibility to shine light in the dark places, and educate ourselves and others, that these atrocities happen. And then, take that knowledge, and use it to protect and empower future generations.
So, although I know you do not do this work for personal gain, I want you to know you are appreciated. Not only by those you have represented, but also by those of us you have inspired.

I agree with you about laughing making you feel better. What's frightening is when you can't remember the last time you really just didn't take yourself so seriously. It may be playing Guitar Hero with your family,(which I would have loved to see:) or eating Taco Bell at 3AM with some great friends. You forget to remember that tomorrow is a new day. And on this occasion, tomorrow is a new year. So Cheers to you my friend! May 2009 be better than you could have ever dreamed!

Dawn,
You are one of very few private investigators that is constantly looking for ways to improve. I look forward to hearing how you manage to get better. I have recommended it before, but I will again --- OneNote.
