I believe in the old fashion approach “knock-on-doors” investigation. Over and over again, I have found that cases are made by early investigation, which allows me the opportunity to locate and interview potential witnesses before they are polarized by the pressure of a lawsuit. I am a good listener, and I have found that most witnesses are willing to open up to a sympathetic ear in the security of their own living room. I have worked on scores of cases for adult survivors of childhood sex abuse, some of whom were victimized by family members and others by health providers and clergy. These “breach of trust” cases, which have been my primary focus for the last 15 years, present unique challenges because the offense may have occurred decades ago and because the truth is often hiding behind a wall of secrecy. In several cases I have helped to prove that institutions have engaged in a “pattern and practice” to protect child molesters and to coverup their crimes. I understand the complexities of these cases. I have worked on cases in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Nevada, and I welcome the opportunity to travel and assist lawyers all over the country.
